Quiet Chaos by Antonello Grimaldi (2008)

Quiet Chaos starts with the main character (Pietro) with his brother (Carlo) at the beach saving two strangers life. When they drove back to the summerhouse found ambulance and Pietro’s wife laying die at the garden by falling, his daughter run towards Pietro and describe the situation. Although the movie start with a tragic incident that Pietro and his brother could save other life’s but lose beloved one in the same time. Naturally funeral is the next part, also a part where audience starting to feel connection with the family, because of the sympathy have been building up, it becomes easier for audience to engage with the movie.

Within fifteen minutes, many key information for audience is already clear on characters. Because it is full of complication of feelings through out rest of the film, a clear start with information becomes very important; so it was smoothly present to viewers. The story itself already create a damp, the fine life style, brightness of the sun, and green leafs become a smoothing for audience to balance between tragic and delight.

The story is with a very normal psychological behavior for human during grief’s, and as a third person point of few is simple and obvious, however the film is sawing us the time and space people need for their grief period. We sometimes meet at the situation with grieving, and with understanding for people who are in the situation. In Quiet Chaos, because of understanding from people surrounding, his co-worker was there for him to sign the contract, to discuss business; also talk to him about his or themselves feeling. It may seem simple, but it could often be forgotten that’s all we need as human.
